The Griffin team has significant experience in the Building
Products industry and has completed a number of successful
transactions both as investment bankers and as senior executive
management for building products companies.
Our expertise in this industry is broad and varied. One
of our bankers served as a senior executive officer of Jim
Walter Corporation, one of the nation's largest building
products companies, where he was responsible for its acquisition
and divestiture program in addition to managing three building
material manufacturing businesses. Our team
also includes a banker who was primarily responsible
for developing the Building Products group at a regional
Philadelphia-based investment bank, having closed seven
of their nine transactions within the industry. Finally,
one of our team members has over 18 years of operating experience
in the residential construction industry, having been a
partner in various residential construction companies, and
having founded several large residential development projects
in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Transactions completed by our team members include:
- Sale of Construction Fasteners, Inc., a manufacturer of
fasteners for metal buildings and industrial roofing systems
in Reading, PA, to SFS Group (Swiss)
- Sale of Mintzer Brothers, Inc., a building products distribution
company in Vermont, to LaValley Building Supply
- Sale of Fisher Holdings, Inc., a building products distribution
and window manufacturing company in San Antonio, TX, to
Builders FirstSource
- Private placement of senior debt for Caldwell/VSR, a
wooden window blind manufacturer in McCallen, TX
- Sale of Haddonfield Lumber Co., a building products distributor
in Haddonfield, NJ, to The Strober Organization
- Sale of Haven Homes, Inc., a modular home manufacturer
in Beech Creek, PA, to Eurocapital, LLC (private equity
group)
- Eleven acquisitions and private equity transactions on
behalf of Specialty Products & Insulation Co.
