Griffin to Present at 2012 Acquire or Be Acquired
READING, PA, JANUARY 13, 2012 –Joseph M. Harenza, CEO and Senior Managing Director, and Mark R. McCollom, Senior Managing Director and Head of Griffin’s Financial Institutions Group, will present at Bank Director’s Acquire Or Be Acquired conference being held January 29-31, 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Messrs. Harenza and McCollom will present “How Do You Make Your Bank Relevant in Today’s Consolidating Industry?” and discuss the economic, financial and demographic factors that are important to institutional investors, industry consolidators – and your competitors – and the specific things you can do to make your bank more relevant.
As the industry continues to consolidate and adapt to regulatory and competitive market forces, banks need to continually evaluate their strategic relevance to the markets they serve. Staying one step ahead of your competition will be more important than ever, as increased regulation and a slow economic recovery have reduced new investor capital into the banking sector and those banks that remain financially and strategically relevant will increase their chances for success.
Mr. Harenza has been the principal advisor to financial institutions in connection with the strategic aspects of mergers and acquisitions and capital formation for over 25 years. He has served as the principal strategic advisor in more than 75 merger and acquisition transactions and over 100 financing transactions in the financial services sector, including the two largest bank branch acquisitions in U.S. history.
Mr. McCollom provides merger and acquisition advisory, capital formation and strategic alternative services to bank executives, directors, stockholders and investors. Calling on his more than 20 years of experience as a senior financial executive in the banking industry, Mr. McCollom works with both major and community banks and thrifts, specialty lenders and asset managers.
