Mark R. McCollom to Lead Griffin's Financial Institutions Group

READING, PA, APRIL 19, 2011 –Joe Harenza, CEO of Griffin Financial Group LLC, announced today that Mark R. McCollom has been promoted to Head of Griffin’s Financial Institutions Group. In this position, he will be responsible for day-to-day management of investment banking operations for banks, thrifts, specialty lenders and asset managers.

“Mark has earned this promotion. He does a superior job for our clients and will do a superior job for Griffin in his new role,” said Harenza.

Calling on his more than 20 years of experience as a senior financial executive and corporate finance professional in the banking industry and as an investment banker, Mr. McCollom works with major and regional banks and thrifts, specialty lenders and asset managers, providing them with merger and acquisition advisory, capital formation, capital planning, branch sales, loan trading and other strategic services. 

Over the course of his career, Mr. McCollom has coordinated the financial and operational aspects of more than 30 M&A transactions in the bank and thrift industry encompassing more than $70 billion in assets with a combined transaction value in excess of $6 billion. Additionally, he coordinated over 20 debt and equity financings totaling in excess of $10 billion. At various times in his career, has been responsible for large bank corporate strategy and development, the treasury, accounting and financial reporting functions, investor relations and management reporting, budgeting, corporate real estate and tax.

A CPA, Mr. McCollom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the CFO Councils for both the Financial Services Roundtable and the BAI, and serves in leadership roles for several nonprofit organizations. Mr. McCollom received a B.S. with high distinction from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a licensed General Securities Principal.
