Joe Harenza has been a principal advisor to companies in connection with the strategic aspects of mergers and acquisitions and capital formation for over 25 years. He has served as the principal outside advisor in more than 300 merger and acquisition transactions to a wide range of businesses in diverse industries, including a number of high profile transactions in the manufacturing and distribution, financial institutions, health care and higher education sectors. On the buy side, he has advised management groups in identifying sponsors and raising the debt and equity necessary to acquire their businesses and in negotiating their equity and compensation packages with the sponsor. On the sell side, he has assisted Boards of Directors, owners and management in understanding their strategic alternatives and in successfully initiating or executing both negotiated and bidded transactions. He has also advised public companies in connection with unsolicited offers, board destabilization attempts, proxy contests and other non-negotiated takeover attempts, as well as in connection with negotiated and bidded changes in control. Joe received an A.B. in Economics from Western Michigan University
in 1967, a J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law in 1971 and an
LL.M. (Taxation) from Temple University in 1976. He is a licensed
General Securities Principal, a former adjunct professor of Securities
Regulation at The Dickinson School of Law and a former trustee
of The Pennsylvania State University.
